Why Monday Blues Make You Question Everything
It is Monday morning, and you end up coiled in an existential crisis. Sometimes it starts on Sunday evening, and that feeling is not new. As the sun sets in peace, your mind is filled up with racing thoughts about the whole week ahead, and you hate it.
That feeling never stays longer as the happiness of waiting for the weekend takes over. Although Monday blues is ephemeral, it can really drive you insane.
Here are some tried tricks which might help you.
1. I finish my Monday morning tasks on Friday or Saturday night
That article I need to complete before Monday afternoon, I start research on Friday. I start writing the heading, subheading and important points for a draft. This way, I can stay relaxed on Monday morning as I can take off with ease on Monday morning.
2. Look forward to having something exciting on Monday evening
This one is the best motivator for me. I plan for an evening hangout with my colleagues to make myself keep moving for the entire day. Try this one, it works!
3. Our internal clocks are messed up, thanks to a lazy weekend.
You either end up dozing off more on a bed or stay awake for binge-watching tv series at the weekend. Your sleep pattern is messed up, and thus you feel tired on Monday.
I am trying hard to keep up with the regular sleep pattern but give up when I start watching Netflix.
4. Admit it, deep inside we are a kid who hates to go to school
You may hold a good position in an organization with more responsibility like a typical adult, but we all crave a break from routine. It does not imply lack of productivity in you.
5. Answer a simple question “Do you hate your job?”
Sometimes it is the job which makes you go sober on Monday morning. If you feel extremely frustrated in the morning, maybe it is the time to switch your job.
This question really helped me out last year.
6. Keep a check on your diet at the weekend
I know it is the time to celebrate and eat whatever your belly desires but not at the cost of regret
Ever heard of “We become what we eat”?
Make sure your intake is moderate. Well, I cannot keep myself away from having a Hyderabadi biryani at the weekend. I make sure to have a full glass of buttermilk or lemon juice to neutralize.
